Parramatta eye off Jarome Luai or Lachlan Galvin to replace Dylan Brown, but what of own nursery?

A friendship built on State of Origin success between Mitch Moses and Jarome Luai could prompt Parramatta to pursue the Wests Tigers star as a high-profile replacement for the departing Dylan Brown.
Parramatta is yet to draw up a wish list to succeed Brown but is aware Luai’s has a get-out clause and that Wests Tigers teammate Lachlan Galvin could be a free agent from November 1.
The Eels have $1m to $1.2m a season to spend in coming years, money set aside for Brown.
Parramatta’s selling point will be an offer to play alongside Moses, the incumbent NSW halfback.
An Eels junior, Galvin’s family retains a strong relationship with Parramatta and its junior league.
Parramatta has nurtured a burgeoning nursery of rising stars who the cub believes can attain NRL status – but not for another two to three years.
Melbourne’s Tyran Wishart, Wigan’s Bevan French and Wests Tigers’ Latu Fainu, not off contract until the end of 2027, have also been mooted as possible replacements for Brown.
Moses and Luai formed a strong bond for NSW last year.
The pair played games II and III together, inspiring NSW to successive victories which sealed the series.
While Parramatta have not, and cannot, approach Luai, the Eels know he has a get-out clause in his contract allowing him to leave after next season.
Galvin has another season at Wests Tigers with the club desperately trying to convince the gun rookie to remain long-term.
He has resisted re-signing and may opt to enter the open market from November 1.
Moses’ agent, Isaac Moses, also manages Galvin.
Having digested Brown’s decision to sign a 10-year, $13m deal with Newcastle, Parramatta is attempting to move forward from the New Zealand five-eighth.
Parramatta have former Souths Sydney halfback Dean Hawkins, who has a calf injury, in their NRL roster.
The Eels have a production line of halves coming through their junior representative ranks.
An Australian Schoolboy last year, the club have high expectations for young halfback Lincoln Fletcher, who likely plays Jersey Flegg this season. He has signed a three-year deal at the club.
Parramatta also talk highly about halfback/five-eighth John Lynn, a Queensland kid, who will play Jersey Flegg or NSW Cup this year.
Young New Zealand-born Apa Twidle played five-eighth in Parramatta’s trial against Wests Tigers.
Parramatta’s SG Ball side is undefeated this season.
