Adam Reynolds has been ruled out of the NSW side for the third State of Origin game with a shoulder problem. Reynolds failed to train with his teammates at their base at Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid-north coast this morning and was later scratched from the Blues side, which is attempting to avoid a series whitewash at the hands of Queensland.

Penrith captain Matt Moylan, who played the opening two games of the series, is the early front runner to replace Reynolds in the squad, either in the starting side or off the interchange bench.

Coach Laurie Daley also has the option of promoting Jack Bird to play alongside James Maloney in the halves. Either way, it would involve Maloney playing halfback with either Bird or Moylan at five-eighth.
