Eels enforcer rubbed out for high shot
Fallout for a high shot on Victor Radley has added salt to the wounds of the Eels after their first loss of the season.
Parramatta enforcer Nathan Brown will miss Saturday night’s bumper clash with Canberra after failing to have a careless high tackle charge downgraded at the NRL judiciary.
Appearing via video link, Brown was found guilty of a grade-two high shot on Sydney Roosters lock Victor Radley in round 6 and rubbed out for two matches.
The 27-year-old will also miss the Eels’ round 8 game against North Queensland after copping his second two-game suspension of the season.
Skipper Clint Gutherson is confident lessons learned from their first loss of the season to the Roosters will help keep the Eels at the top of the ladder.
“We showed that we’re close but we’ve still got a bit of work to do. (We take) a heap of confidence, we were in front with about 17 to go and a couple of big plays cost us,” said Gutherson.
