Campbell Graham has been sidelined indefinitely with scans revealing the Rabbitohs centre has suffered a broken hand.

In a bitter blow for the South Sydney talent, doctors have confirmed the club’s worst fears after he went down clutching his hand at training on Tuesday.

Graham has had his hand placed into a protective guard with the Rabbitohs medical staff needing the swelling around the break to subside before they can give a definitive timeline of his return to play.

Once the swelling has reduced, Graham will meet with specialists next week to determine if he needs an operation to correct the broken bone in his hand.

With five weeks remaining until the Rabbitohs opening round clash of the season against The Dolphins, Graham will do everything within his power to recover in time for the round one fixture.

On the comeback trail from a serious sternum injury that wiped his entire 2024 season, Graham’s bad luck has continued.

The entire rugby league fraternity have been willing Graham back onto the field after failing to feature at all last season after playing-on bravely throughout the 2023 season with excruciating sternum pain.

Rested and recovered, Graham had been enjoying an outstanding pre-season aided by his ability to resume contact drills last November.

After releasing Taane Milne and Jacob Gagai, the Rabbitohs aren’t flush with depth at centre with Jack Wighton and Isaiah Tass their most experienced options should Graham struggle to return in time for round one.

The Rabbitohs have scheduled pre-season trial matches on February 15 against the Sea Eagles before their annual Charity Shield clash with St George-Illawarra on February 22.
