Bryce Cartwright confirms Parramatta Eels exit, links with junior club St Marys Saints

Parramatta forward Bryce Cartwright has played his last game for the Eels, confirming he will join his junior club St Marys Saints, effective immediately.

Parramatta forward Bryce Cartwright has left the Eels, effective immediately.

The move will help coach Jason Ryles’ on-going restructure of his club’s salary cap and playing roster.

Cartwright will join St Marys Saints, the club where his started his career.

“I’m really thankful to the Eels for the opportunity to be part of this club, it always felt like a home away from home,” Cartwright said.

“I’m leaving with positive memories, lifelong mates and gratitude for everyone’s support, especially the passionate fans who have always shown me love.

“While I’ve loved my time at Parramatta, this decision is about making the best choice for my family and our future.”

Parramatta Eels general manager of football, Mark O’Neill, offered strong praise to Cartwright, who played 185 NRL games for Penrith, Gold Coast and Parramatta.

“Bryce is a wonderful person with strong family values. He has played some of his most consistent football with the Eels, and we wish him and his family all the best as he transitions to the next chapter of his life,” O’Neill said.

Cartwright played juniors for St Marys before being signed by the Panthers.

He played in seven finals games, represented the NRL All Stars in 2017 and NSW City in 2016 and ’17.
