Tony Gollan looks to steal Magic Millions thunder with Inglis filly Moulin Miss at Gold Coast
Dozens of Magic Millions horses looking to sneak into the big day with victory at the Gold Coast on Saturday, but Tony Gollan could spoil the show with an Inglis filly that could be headed to Sydney.
The $3m Magic Millions 2YO Classic may be the biggest show in town for the next week, but Tony Gollan will put a filly on show for the Inglis Millennium on Saturday as he looks to upset the apple cart at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The champion trainer has a high opinion of Moulin Miss, who is looking to upset Magic Millions fancy Arabian Summer in the $150,000 Gold Pearl (1100m) on Saturday.
While the Gold Coast is littered with Magic Millions-eligible horses on Saturday, Gollan is looking to overshadow them with an Inglis one, as he eyes the $2m Inglis Millennium in Sydney next month.
“I got her at Inglis Premier, if she holds up she could be headed down to Sydney for the Millennium next month,” he said.

“She is a really nice filly and she trialled as good as anything did on that day of trials. I’d say if she was in the fillies Debut race next week she would be a short-priced favourite.
“There has been a lot of two-year-olds go by the wayside and it is just the way it has been, not many around pre-Christmas these days.
“She is one of the better ones we have had so far, there are nice ones there still that you haven’t seen come out yet.”
With Tony and Calvin McEvoy using a tried and tested model of racing Arabian Summer seven days before the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, Gollan said he respected the odds-on favourite.
"Sprinting hard & just too quick!"

“Race day is different for my filly and she will face a stiff test in the form of McEvoy’s filly, who has that race day experience under her belt,” Gollan said.
“Tony is using a pretty good formula that he used with Sunlight, so she has to be pretty ready for this week if she is running next week in the Magic Millions.
“My filly is well above average, how good? We just want to see over the next few months.”
It comes as Gollan weighs up a multimillion dollar gamble with his colt Balastier, who is short in the market for the $500,000 The Debut next week.
Gollan has him entered to run in the $150,000 Gold Nugget on Saturday, which would make him ineligible for The Debut next week, but has the carrot of the $3m Magic Millions 2YO Classic should he win against $1.80 favourite Spywire.

“We will make a decision with the owners over the next few days,” he said.
“We respect Ciaron’s (Maher) horse in this race on Saturday but it doesn’t look a bad style of race for him.
“There is then the opportunity to back up into the big show next week, it is a pretty good carrot but it is hard to not wait a week with the money on offer.
“It is a bit of a gamble really, whatever happens, we have a couple of nice horses, whether that is now or in a couple of months we will find out.”
