Pride Of Jenni’s incredible Queen Elizabeth Stakes win puts her into the conversation for champions mare Winx, Black Caviar, Sunline and Makybe Diva
Wondrous Queen Elizabeth Stakes earns Pride of Jenni the highest individual rating of the season and comparisons with some of Australian racing’s all-time greats – including Black Caviar, Winx, Sunline and Makybe Diva.
Pride Of Jenni’s wondrous Queen Elizabeth Stakes win has earned her the highest individual rating of the season and comparisons with Australian racing’s all-time great mares.
The Ciaron Maher-trained Pride Of Jenni produced a freakish frontrunning effort to win last Saturday’s Group 1 $5 million Royal Randwick 2000m weight-for-age race by nearly seven lengths.
She led by an estimated 40 lengths – or about 100m – mid-race and simply ran her elite rivals ragged.
Pride Of Jenni’s unforgettable effort made headlines around the racing world and earned a new peak Timeform rating of 129.
Timeform’s Adam Blencowe revealed Pride Of Jenni improved significantly on her previous peak rating of 124 she returned winning the All-Star Mile.
Blencowe said while it was not unusual for horses to increase their ratings by five points, it was rare for such a significant jump at the higher end of the Timeform ratings scale.

Pride Of Jenni leads by a huge margin and wins the G1Â Queen Elizabeth Stakes in a bold front running display, in one of the most epic wins at Randwick ever!@aus_turf_club@cmaherracingpic.twitter.com/33Ejus8VL3
“Pride Of Jenni was the only horse in the race to improve her rating, the rest ran below their peak performances,’’ Blencowe said.
“The beaten runners were ridden sub-optimally but that does not detract from Pride Of Jenni’s win.
“I think we can say with a fair bit of certainty when they all meet next the margin won’t be the same but the result might not be different.’’
Blencowe said Pride Of Jenni took her rivals “out of their comfort zone” with her unrelenting and sustained display of speed and stamina.
Pride Of Jenni’s exciting Queen Elizabeth Stakes effort is clearly the best individual effort of the 2023-24 season and ranks her above The Everest winner Think About It and Melbourne Cup hero Without A Fight, who both returned a 127 rating.

I Wish I Win returned a 126 rating with his close second in The Everest and Gold Trip a similar figure winning the Turnbull Stakes.
Hong Kong champ Romantic Warrior went to 125 winning the Cox Plate, the same peak ratings achieved by Mr Brightside and Private Eye this season.
Imperatriz, who won five Group 1 sprints during 2023-24, was afforded a Timeform rating of 124, level with Alligator Blood, Think It Over and Militarize.
Pride Of Jenni’s lofty Timeform figure is the highest rating achieved since the mighty Winx retired five years ago.
Winx, who won 37 of her 43 starts including her final 33 races in succession and a world record 25 Group 1 wins, achieved a peak Timeform rating of 134 during her stellar career.
UNFORGETTABLE. In her final debut, Winx wins her 33rd consecutive race as she romps in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stake at @royalrandwick making her the RICHEST racehorse in the WORLD. We will never forget this unbelievable mare! @skyracingworldpic.twitter.com/0Cl7gkjZBz

Winx is ranked second on the list of all-time great mares on the Timeform rankings behind another Hall of Fame champion, Black Caviar, the undefeated winner of 25 races with 15 at Group 1 level, for a peak rating of 136.
But Black Caviar and Winx are the only mares to record higher Timeform ratings than Pride Of Jenni, who now ranks equal third alongside triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva, and dual Cox Plate-Doncaster winner Sunline.

Pride Of Jenni’s Queen Elizabeth rating now places her one point ahead of champions mare like Atlantic Jewel, More Joyous and Maybe Mahal who earned peak ratings of 128 during their careers.
The legendary Phar Lap remains the all-time Australian rankings leader on 141 ahead of Bernborough and Tulloch on 138, then Kingston Town and Peter Pan on 137.
Timeform’s world rankings has England’s unbeaten phenomenon Frankel alone on 147 ahead of Sea Bird on 145. Phar Lap’s rating places him equal seventh with Mill Reef.
