Noel Callow pleads guilty to fresh charge over racially-offensive video
Noel Callow, already serving a 10-month disqualification for a pair of offensive videos, has been hit with a new stewards’ charge over a separate recording.
Group 1-winning jockey Noel Callow has been hit with a fresh charge by Queensland stewards in relation to the emergence of another video in which he allegedly uses a racist slur towards an Indigenous man.
However stewards have withdrawn another charge under AR 232(h) for failing to attend the stewards inquiry into the matter which had been scheduled for October 2.
Callow has already been disqualified by 10 months by Queensland stewards for a pair of videos which used “racially-charged language”.
The street-talk style videos (above) were recorded some time ago in Darwin.

However a separate video then emerged in which stewards alleged that Callow directed an offensive racist slur towards an Indigenous man in an exchange on a street.
Callow also allegedly mocked the man’s appearance.
It is unknown when the video was recorded and Callow is not seen in the video, but it is his voice that is alleged to be heard.
Callow was ordered to attend an inquiry in October before stewards at the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission headquarters at Albion.
He was a no-show, but at a later date appeared before stewards via video link.

“The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) advises that on 3 December 2025, Stewards issued the following charge against jockey Noel Callow: AR 228(a) (conduct prejudicial to the image, interests, integrity or welfare of racing),” Queensland chief steward Josh Adams said in a statement.
“Mr Callow has pleaded guilty and the matter has been adjourned to allow stewards to consider penalty.
“Stewards additionally have withdrawn the charge under AR 232(h) for failing to attend the stewards inquiry on 2 October 2025.”
When he unsuccessfully appeared his 10-month disqualification earlier this year, Callow told the appeal board that a 90-minute online course on Indigenous culture and a chat with former Sydney Swans champion Michael O’Loughlin made him realise he has been “disrespectful” to Indigenous people.
He also revealed he had been a “functioning alcoholic” before his fight with fellow hoop Kyle Wilson-Taylor in the jockeys’ room earlier this year saw him slapped with a three-month ban from stewards.
