Mornington trainer David Brideoake could attempt to take a promising partnership to another level at Saturday’s Randwick meeting.

Brideoake has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Hong Kong-based businessman Eric Yeung, which has resulted in the duo teaming up to buy yearlings together in the last 12 months.

Yeung’s developing team, which all features ‘prestige’ in their names, includes last Saturday’s Flemington winner Prestige Ole and the Listed St Albans Stakes winner Prestige Forever.

“I would say he’s probably got 10 or 12 and a couple up on the mid-north coast (of NSW) with lesser ability,” Brideoake, who trains in partnership with Matt Jenkins, said.

“I’ve dealt with the owner and quite a few of his mates that have raced horses in Hong Kong for quite a long time.

“Then he just decided to up the ante a little bit and race a few locally.

“It’s certainly been a good thing for me.”

Prestige Forever holds an entry for the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes as well as the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes at Randwick, flagging an intention to take the harder option.

“I’ll take him to Sydney and probably run him in the Sires,” Brideoake said.

“He improved quite massively (at The Valley).

Fine conditions are forecast for Sydney for the remainder of the week but Prestige Forever would have no trouble with soft ground after relishing difficult conditions in his win at The Valley.
