FOUR-PLAY: $200 BETTING STRATEGY
RACE 5: 3YO OPEN FILLIES (1100m)
$50 win CLEAN ENERGY (2) at $3.20
Exciting blue blood filly Clean Energy, the sister of triple Group 1 star Sunlight, whose brilliant record included the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Newmarket Handicap at Flemington, looks primed to fire first-up on Saturday. Trialled up nicely in Sydney, second in respective 1050m and 850m heats, ahead of an extremely winnable race here. Unbeaten Clean Energy won a Warwick Farm maiden and Listed race in Queensland in her first racing campaign last year.
Clean Energy is a smart 2YO! â¡ï¸

RACE 7: GROUP 2 BLAMEY STAKES (1600m)
$50 win STEPARTY (7) at $3.70
Gets the chance here for a deserved win after being a model of consistency, placed the past six starts including two at the highest level. Steparty has won two of four starts at Flemington and placed once, drawn wide but gets back in the run anyway. Solid enough speed in the race to help Steparty finish off strongly and snare a deserved win. ATTRITION (1) is not without a chance back on top of the ground and drawn favourably in barrier three.
RACE 8: GROUP 1 AUSTRALIAN GUINEAS (1600m)
$25 each-way GOLDRUSH GURU (1) at $12/$3.50
Went super second-up on a testing rain-affected surface at Flemington in the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m), travelled outside the leader and stuck on boldly to run fourth. The Victoria Derby winner should be better for the run and distance certainly not going to be an issue for the South Australian raider. Drawn perfectly in barrier five to get an economical run. Respect ANGEL CAPITAL (4) but need to be convinced at 1600m.

RACE 9: INGLIS SPRINT (1200m)
$25 each-way CERTAIN RISE (11) at $9/$3
Smart filly on the up. Debut second behind Lofty Arch at Cranbourne and bolted in second-up last campaign, albeit in a maiden, then dictated a Listed win at The Valley. Hit the line nicely first-up at Caulfield in the Group 3 Kevin Hayes Stakes (1100m) to run fourth behind Arabian Summer, who franked the form with a solid fifth place in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) last start. Tricky race with lots of different form lines but middle draw and champion jockey Blake Shinn aboard a solid recipe for success.
QUADZILLA
LEG 1 – RACE 7
STEPARTY (7) is overdue another win and would deserve one too, having placed the past six starts including twice in Group 1 company. Drawn wide but gets the chance to fire here in the All-Star Mile qualifier. PLENTY OF AMMO (5) will benefit from the run but more than capable of firing fresh. Include ATTRITION (1) at an each-way price.
1ST LEG: 1, 5, 7
LEG 2 – RACE 8
ANGEL CAPITAL (4) could not have been more impressive winning the Group 2 Autumn Stakes (1400m). Primed to strike second-up and horse to beat. Slight query at 1600m but any such concerns could be extinguished by 4.20pm on Saturday. Victoria Derby winner GOLDRUSH GURU (1) is a definite threat. Nice return in the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes. Respect the confident placement of POINT AND SHOOT (7), rising from Benchmark 78 against older horses into the Group 1 arena. Include SEPALS (12), NDOLA (10) and PLYMOUTH (15).
2ND LEG: 1, 4, 10, 12, 15
LEG 3 – RACE 9
RESERVE BANK (7) has impressed trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr leading up to the Inglis Sprint. Drawn widest of 18 but grandstand side of the straight the place to be usually. CERTAIN RISE (11) looks a definite threat from a middle alley. MIDNIGHT DYNAMITE (6) and SCINTILLA (15) next best.
3RD LEG: 6, 7, 11, 15

LEG 4 – RACE 10
MISS YOU ELLA (16) should be more than competitive, hard fit with four runs under the belt in Sydney. Drawn to get an economical run and nicely weighted. ARQANA (15) finished hard first-up at Flemington to run sixth but not beaten far behind Name Dropper. Trialled twice since and drawn to be within striking distance. Gets back in runs so will need luck late.
