Addeybb too good again taking out 2021 Queen Elizabeth Stakes from Verry Elleegant
Addeybb has confirmed his standing as the world’s top ranked horse winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, once again beating Australian champ Verry Elleegant into second place.
Addeybb has overcome a slow start and once again proven too good for the great Australian mare Very Elleegant taking out the 2021 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick.
It was the second time Addeybb had won the Queen Elizabeth and on both occasions he proved too tough for the Chris Waller-trained mare.
Dalasan, who was the surprise leader fought on well to hold third place.
Addeybb had been expected to lead however when he missed the start jockey Tom Marquand was in trouble getting to the position he was aiming for and had to work his way through the field to get to the outside.
Forced to race three wide down the back of the track Marquand then took the initiative and worked around into second place.
On straightening Addeybb took up the running from Dalasan and it was left to Very Elleegant to chase him down, but she simply wasn’t up to the task.
An incredible effort from VERRY ELLEEGANT, but ADDEYBB was just too good and makes it two Queen Elizabeth Stakes in as many years ðª
