Tim Cahill in talks about playing in the Indian Super League

Australian great Tim Cahill is reportedly in advanced talks with Jamshedpur FC to play in the Indian Super League.
The 38-year-old announced his retirement from international football in July and ruled out the prospect of an A-League return, saying he intended to live in the US, prompting speculation the striker was looking to move back to Major League Soccer.
However sports website Khel Now is reporting Cahill’s potential move to the “cash-rich” ISL, which features players of the calibre of Dimitar Berbatov (ex-Tottenham) and Wes Brown (Manchester United). “He’s been on our radar for some time and we have been negotiating the move for quite a few weeks,” the site quoted a source close to developments as saying.
Cahill, who is Australia’s leading international goalscorer, retired from the Socceroos with 50 goals and 107 caps.
A move to Jamshedpur FC could provide a much-needed boost to the club, which scored the ISL’s second-lowest number of goals in the 2017-18 season.
Cahill, a former Premier League player, spent time at Melbourne City and with English second-tier outfit Millwall in the lead-up to the World Cup in Russia. However, he was used only as a substitute in Australia’s final group match against Peru.
Meanwhile, Notts County have requested permission from Crawley Town to speak to former Socceroos striker Harry Kewell about their vacant managerial position.
County, who sit bottom of League Two after picking up one point from their first five matches, sacked Kevin Nolan on Sunday.
Kewell’s coaching star is on the rise following an impressive stint at Crawley where he was appointed as manager 14 months ago. He endured a difficult start when he lost seven of his first 11 matches.
But he turned the team’s fortunes around after Christmas with a run of seven wins in eight matches to move to within two points of the promotion playoffs before falling away to finish 14th — the club’s best season in three years.
