Perth Glory’s Andy Keogh hoping to mark 100th game with a goal

Perth Glory’s Andy Keogh will be boosted by some happy memories when he plays his 100th A-League game on Sunday.

Perth Glory’s Andy Keogh will be boosted by some happy memories when he plays his 100th A-League game on Sunday.

Keogh scored on his Glory debut against Wellington Phoenix at Westpac Stadium in round one, 2014.

The 32-year-old striker returns to that venue for his milestone match, with the aim to get on the scoresheet again.

“My first game in the A-League was against Wellington and I scored,” Keogh said.

“It’s always nice to get that hoodoo off your back.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to get 100 games for any club. I’m delighted with that.

“My body has been kind to me in the last few years to reach this, and long may that continue.”

Keogh has been in hot form this season, scoring four goals from five matches. It’s in stark contrast to last season, when he managed just six goals in 24 appearances.

Keogh’s best ever A-League season tally is 12 — in his debut campaign of 2014/15, and again in 2016/17.

Glory sit on top of the table after snaring four wins and a draw from their first five matches.

Keogh rated the current quality and depth at the club as the best he’s seen since he arrived four years ago.

They will be without defender Alex Grant (foot) and midfielder Juande (knee) for the match against Wellington.

Dino Djulbic is expected to start in place of Grant, while former Socceroo Matthew Spiranovic could also get some game time after recovering from a long-term hip injury.

Wellington sit in ninth spot on the table, but could move back into the top six with a win.
