The Matildas have progressed to the round of 16 without Sam Kerr after a 4-0 win over Canada.
There were fears the World Cup hosts would fail to make the knockout stages of the tournament after their shock loss to Nigeria, but the Aussies regrouped and put in a prolific performance in Melbourne.
Hayley Raso’s two goals before half time got the ball rolling before Mary Fowler got on the scoresheet and Steph Catley finished the night with a tidy finish from the penalty spot.
