Macarthur FC assistant coach handed two-match ban after ‘assault’ on keeper
Macarthur Bulls FC assistant coach has copped a hefty ban after being found guilty of ‘assaulting’ Jets goalkeeper in a fiery round one A-League’s clash.
Macarthur Bulls assistant coach Christophe Gamel will miss at least the next two rounds after he shoved the opposition goalkeeper during a fiery post-match melee.
Gamel, who stormed onto the field as the melee broke out after the Jets beat the Bulls 2-1 in Round 2, can be seen inserting himself into the tussle, was given a straight red card by referee Tim Danaskos.
It started after some sort of disagreement between Bulls’ Marin Jakoliš and Jets’ Dane Ingham and soon turned into an all-in.
No punches were thrown but Gamel can be seen in the footage shoving Jets’ keeper Ryan Scott before being dragged away by another member of the coaching staff – earning himself the red card.
Football Australia independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee convened to hear the matter on Monday.
It all kicked off at full-time following a dramatic ending at Campbelltown Stadium ð¤¯ð¶ï¸
