The BCCI will review Michael Clarke’s $150k commentary stint in India, with the gig in some doubt after video of his public bust-up in Noosa emerged.

Michael Clarke upcoming commentary stint in India is in doubt in the wake of his wild night out in Noosa.

Sources out of India have confirmed the BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) are reviewing the former Test captain’s place in its commentary team for next month’s Australian Test tour.

Clarke has been signed alongside former teammate and fellow great Matthew Hayden as the Australian voices on the global broadcast that will be taken exclusively by Fox Sports in Australia in prime time through February and March.

But the image conscious BCCI are now set to re-evaluate Clarke’s position, worth an estimated US$100,000 plus expenses for the four Test series, after the video of his public bust-up surfaced.

Clarke’s imminent trip to India was referenced in his explosive screaming match with girlfriend Jade Yarbrough, which was captured in video footage obtained exclusively by News Corp.

As part of her cheating claims against him, Yarbrough accuses Clarke of wanting to take his ex-partner Pip Edwards with him to India.

“You want to send her to India with you?” Yarbrough yells in the video captured on a Noosa street.

“’You’re the love of my life Pip, come with me to India’”

The first Test in India doesn’t start until February 9, and it’s understood the BCCI will privately review Clarke’s position in the coming fortnight before it decides whether to show faith or make a late change to its line-up.

Fox will show the blockbuster series live in Australia, with Brendon Julian, Kerry O’Keeffe, Brad Haddin and Brett Lee to host the daily coverage from 2.30pm through to prime time.

It’s understood Clarke will return to his Big Sports Breakfast radio show in Sydney on Monday morning, where it’s likely he will address the public spat.

THE TAB declined to comment when contacted by News Corp on Thursday, with a spokesman for the radio network saying the company doesn’t comment on the personal matters of its employees.

Clarke still has another 12 months to run on his Big Sports Breakfast contract.

Clarke has already taken full responsibility for the ugly confrontation and profusely apologised for his actions.

“I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable,” he said.

“I am shattered that because of my actions I’ve drawn women of class and integrity, and my mates, into this situation.

“I own this fully and am the only one at fault.”

The BCCI are famously very fickle when it comes to choosing commentators and have a history of dismissing callers for differences of opinion.

The voice of Indian cricket Harsha Bhogle was black-listed by the BCCI for two years over comments he made during a World Cup which the organisation didn’t like.
