Fox Cricket unveils commentary team for BBL12
Fox Cricket has unveiled a star-studded commentary line-up for the BBL season, headed by an array of current stars and one voice footy fans will be very familiar with.
David Warner and one of the AFL’s most respected commentators will headline Fox Cricket’s Big Bash coverage this summer.
Anthony Hudson is the voice of Fox Footy but will switch hit to cricket this off-season and bring a new flavour to the BBL along with a host of Australia’s superstar cricketers.
Warner might remain inexplicably banned from captaining in the BBL, but viewers will be able to hear his unique insights into reading the game when he jumps on the mic to call matches later in the season when he also joins the competition as a player.
Newly appointed Melbourne Stars captain Adam Zampa will join Warner on Fox Cricket, along with fellow superstars Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Dan Christian, Mitch Marsh and Alyssa Healy.
The host of stars from the recent World Cup will give Fox Cricket a unique edge, but they’ve also changed up their main lead callers as well.
Hudson is synonymous with Fox Footy and radio AFL commentary and has previously commentated cricket summers for SEN – and will now venture into the world of cricket television.
As well one of Fox League’s most impressive callers, Dan Ginane, who will also commentate Big Bash matches this summer after also calling the cricket for Triple M.
Fox Cricket say the addition of some of Australia’s biggest name cricketers and callers to the coverage will add another dimension to the action on the field.
“With a swag of big-name internationals in the first half of the season and 16 or 17 of Australia’s contracted players coming in by the back end – the BBL is back in town,” said Fox Cricket chief, Matt Weiss.
“Apart from doing all 61 games with Fox Cricket’s commentators we have introduced some great innovations and talent in the box.
“It doesn’t get much bigger than Dave Warner.
“We are delighted to have Anthony Hudson join the team also.”
