Brock Jarvis planning $2 million heist against Keith Thurman, as Fenech comments spark fire
Brock Jarvis is hellbent on disrupting Keith Thurman’s multimillion dollar plans for world domination, with a plan to make the American pay for the disrespect of overlooking him.
Brock Jarvis is plotting a bold $2 million hit and run job against Keith Thurman, and promises to make the loudmouthed American pay for the disrespect of overlooking him in hopes of landing a big money fight later this year.
Thurman is a modern day boxing great and a former two-time welterweight world champion, but is 36 now and hasn’t fought in three years.
The brash American says Jarvis is “an appetiser” as he plans what he calls the “greatest comeback in modern boxing history” after five years plagued by injury.

There have already been talks for Thurman to fight Tim Tszyu on the Gold Coast in July, while Michael Zerafa has also emerged as a potential future opponent for a blockbuster pay per view fight with ‘One Time’.
Still a major boxing star in the States, Thurman could also easily cash (US) $2 million for fights with American stars like Jermell Charlo, Errol Spence or former Tszyu opponents Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev.
Despite being the hometown fighter, the underdog Jarvis says he feels disrespected that Thurman and No Limit are already looking past him.
“One hundred per cent it’s disrespectful,” Jarvis said of Thurman already planning ahead. “He’s in for a shock if that’s the case.
“He’s coming here (to Australia) once, and I’m sending him home with a loss.
“Then he can go back to commentating.
“He’s just talking nonsense and talking about other things. He wants to dodge talking about the circumstances we’re under.
“I see fear and weakness in him. He’s worried, I’m going in for the kill. I’m going to make an example out of him.”
For the second time in three days, Thurman and Jarvis needed to be separated after trading insults at Monday’s press conference.
The pair nearly came to blows on Friday when Jarvis attacked Thurman’s choice of footwear, but on Monday afternoon, ‘One Time’ went straight for the jugular, zeroing in on Jarvis’ bust-up with Jeff Fenech.
“There’s a reason your trainer left you, you ain’t worth shit,” Thurman said as the pair went face-to-face. “You ain’t worth shit.”
Jarvis was yanked off stage before it could get any more heated, before Thurman took another crack at the messy breakdown in Jarvis and Fenech’s relationship.
“I’m a two-time world champion and the closest thing he’s ever come to that is his coach,” Thurman told this masthead. “And his coach left him because he didn’t want to listen.
“He was being too stubborn, too hard-headed.
“He must have a solid game-plan by himself. He must know exactly what to do.
“I’ve heard he’s a good kid, but depending on his surroundings, team and family, there’s a persona that ends up making him be a certain way.”
Instead of working the corner as he has done for Jarvis’ entire career, Fenech will be sitting in a ringside seat, but hasn’t ruled out jumping over the barricades if Jarvis needs help.
This masthead can confirm Jarvis’ dad Dom, brother Levi, Curtis Scott and veteran cutman Stephen Edwards will work the corner.
Former world champion Shawn Porter – who lost a close unanimous decision to Thurman in 2016 – has serious concerns about Jarvis’ team and his approach to the fight.
“One thing Brock said to me that’s pretty alarming is he wants to start slower and ride the wave and react to Keith – that’s not good,” he said. “That’s not a good game plan.
“Hopefully he sees this, but Keith’s so unpredictable and if you try to get in his rhythm, that’s what he wants you to do.”
Considering the corner drama, Porter doesn’t think Jarvis will be able to make adjustments during the fight.
“If you haven’t seen Brock make adjustments to this point, don’t expect him to make adjustments now,” he said. “That’s just not in his nature, it’s not who he is.
“It’s a bad game plan, I don’t like it.”
Two days before the biggest bout of his career, Jarvis clapped back at Thurman, Porter and all the speculation surrounding his corner.
“I pay no attention to anything Keith Thurman says, it was all emotion,” he said.
“It means nothing. I pay no attention to anything he says. It is what it is.
“At the end of the day it’s only Keith and myself in the ring. Nothing on the outside really matters.
“I’ve prepared hard and worked my whole life for a moment like this.”
