The AFL career of Phil Walsh spanned over 32 years:
1983 Made his VFL debut with Collingwood
1984 Moved to Richmond where he played for three seasons
1987 Finished his playing career at Brisbane, winning their inaugural Best and Fairest award
1995-98 Worked at Geelong as the strength and conditioning coach once he finished playing
1999 Became Port Adelaide assistant coach, including during their 2004 premiership
2004 Awarded the AFL Coaches Association Coach of the Year award
2009 Became West Coast assistant coach
2014 Returned to Port Adelaide to become assistant coach, specialising in midfield strategy
2015 Senior coach at Adelaide
