Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe’s Brownlow Medal hopes for this season appear dashed after he received a one-match suspension today.
The 2015 Brownlow Medallist was favourite to clinch the AFL’s most prestigious individual award for the second time but is out of contention after he elbowed Collingwood’s Levi Greenwood at the MCG yesterday.

The only way that Fyfe, who has returned to his best form this season, will remain eligible is if the Dockers successfully challenge the ban.
Fremantle has until midday tomorrow to lodge a challenge to the penalty.
As a result of the suspension, Hawk Tom Mitchell has regained favouritism for this year’s Brownlow Medal.
