Some of the complaints against Collingwood coaches and officials Heritier Lumumba says he wanted to detail to the club as part of a formal truth-telling process.

Read the explosive claims below.

Gary Pert

– The beginning of my issues with CFC leadership

– Holding him accountable for inappropriate comments re: players’ sex lives in front of their partners in Sydney in 2011

– As a member of the leadership group I demanded an apology and Pert was forced to apologise to the players

– After this I felt retaliation from Gary Pert who was part of the club’s hierarchy that ended my time at Collingwood

Gary Pert and Eddie McGuire are mentioned numerous times in the dossier.

Eddie McGuire, Nathan Buckley and the King Kong incident

– Eddie McGuire accused me of betraying him and along with the club’s other leadership figures expressed their expectation that I should have defended him

– There was essentially silence about the incident immediately afterwards, not discussed at all

– Confronted teammates about the ‘Chimp’ nickname and other concerns with the club culture that violated people’s rights

– Continued to be in the leadership group until I walked out of team meeting when an assistant coach made a homophobic joke and Nathan Buckley targeted me about being too sensitive – essentially mocking the fact that I had finally confronted my peers about racism and other serious issues

– The same assistant coach under Buckley put a pornographic image on the screen in a team meeting (this was the kind of behaviour Buckley allowed)

– Me walking out of the team meeting led to an eight-hour mediation with Buckley

– I demanded an apology from him for singling me out and reiterated my struggles at the club with respect to racism

– Buckley CLEARLY knew about the ‘Chimp’ nickname

– The mediator was shocked by what I was saying but Buckley was adamant that I was the problem, that I had “gone rogue”, “flown off the handle”, “thrown him (McGuire) under the bus”

– I agreed to stay at the club but Buckley informed me that I was being removed from the leadership group

Falling out with Buckley

– Buckley became paranoid about me, claiming that he felt “judged” all the time, that I was demanding too much change from the club, that I was being too selfish and “not acting in the club’s best interests”, ie not being deferential enough to him - even saying I was walking incorrectly

– Prohibited from media appearances

– Excluded from a 2014 team meeting

– Confrontation with Buckley over a homophobic poster at the club after club staff had asked me to do something about it. Buckley refused to take action saying I was the problem

– Final meeting with Buckley, Rodney Eade, Derek Hine where they informed me I was being traded because I was going against the club’s best interests. Told again that I “threw him (McGuire) under the bus”

Buckley’s 2017 press conference

– Buckley denies hearing the “Chimp” nickname despite hearing it constantly and discussing it in an eight-hour mediation

– Makes insinuations about my mental health in line with the media department’s briefings to journalists. Caroline Wilson has since publicly confirmed that multiple people were briefing against me

– While completely disrespecting myself, Leon Davis and Andrew Krakouer, CFC is busy laundering Buckley’s reputation so they can trade on his legacy.

– This man was instrumental in punishing a black player for speaking out about racism

Leaving Collingwood

– Caught up with McGuire just before the trade was to take place. Told him about the “Chimp” nickname and everything that had happened since the King Kong incident

– Eddie has since claimed he “never heard” the nickname as a way of avoiding the topic but he definitely knew about it directly from me

– Spoke to another club director about what had happened, he was indifferent

– Had exit meeting and told all other coaches what had happened, also indifferent
