Eddie Betts a familiar fit for Carlton

Eddie Betts finally feels at home back in Melbourne.
The Carlton star will return to his No 19 guernsey in 2020 – the number he played 184 games in his first stint at the Blues.
“I feel bad,” he said.
“Actually, I don’t feel bad, because I played 184 games in it.
“I’m glad that I’m back in it. I’ve still got my old jerseys and still got little ones from my boy when he was a baby, so the girls will jump into that one.”
Betts said it had only been on Monday that he felt fully settled back in Melbourne.
“I was actually driving my car yesterday and it was the first time I’ve driven my car in Melbourne (in years) because every time I’m here, I’ve got a hire car,” he smiled.
“It’s really starting to sink in now, putting the guernsey back on.”
Blues skipper Patrick Cripps said having Betts back at the club had delivered fantastic energy.
“He’s someone that everyone admires, and with the young forward line that we have, he’ll just jell that forward line massively,” he said.
“Someone like Sammo (Petrevski-Seton) will benefit massively from having him.
“The phones were off the hook the day he got traded. The excitement it’s going to create not only for us but the fans is going to be good to see.”
As for whether Betts had claimed a pocket of Ikon Park given his penchant for kicking goals from the boundary line, Cripps laughed that “he can have every pocket, I reckon”.
