The trade merry-go-round is heating up and the futures of more stars becoming clear as the AFL trade period draws closer.

From Josh Battle and Tom Barrass declaring they want to play Hokball to Bailey Smith requesting a trade, there are already a host of big names set to be on the move.

ADELAIDE

– Alex Neal-Bullen has nominated the Crows as his preferred club after requesting a trade to South Australia.

– Mark Keane has re-signed after being linked with his former club Collingwood.

– Jack Lukosius has met with Matthew Nicks as he weighs up leaving Gold Coast. Lukosius’ teammate Malcolm Rosas is another player being considered.

Crows have been linked with GWS duo Isaac Cumming and Harry Perryman. Cumming is more likely, with Perryman’s choice reportedly down to Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and staying at GWS.

- Elliott Himmelberg is reportedly attracting interest 12 months after almost joining GWS.

BRISBANE LIONS

Deven Robertson is expected to attract interest again after knocking back West Coast to re-sign for two seasons last year.

Otherwise appear to be focused on securing Levi Ashcroft and academy talent Sam Marshall at the draft.

CARLTON

Reportedly looking at options to enter the race for Dan Houston.

– Small forward Matt Owies’ future is up in the air as he’s yet to re-sign.

– GWS defender Nick Haynes is expected to cross to Princes Park as a free agent.

– Essendon’s Jayden Laverde has been touted as an option to bolster the club’s defensive depth.

– Out-of-contract forward Jack Martin has reportedly had a medical at Fremantle and asked the Blues to delist him. He also has interest from both Queensland clubs.

– Were linked to Christian Petracca in a blockbuster move involving Harry McKay that has been shut down by both players.

- Matt Kennedy and Lewis Young have reportedly been told they can look elsewhere.

COLLINGWOOD

Mark Keane has re-signed at Adelaide after being linked with the Magpies.

– Interested in fringe Gold Coast on-baller Alex Davies.

– Linked to Essendon’s former No. 13 draft pick Ben Hobbs as they plan for life after Pendlebury, Sidebottom and co.

— Reportedly showing interest in Jake Stringer as he weighs up his future at Essendon.

— Making a late play to convince Harry Perryman to turn his back on South Australian interest and become a Magpie.

ESSENDON

- The Bombers have shut down speculation linking Zach Merrett with St Kilda.

Defender Jayden Laverde could head to rival Carlton.

Ben Hobbs’ future uncertain after only playing 12 games — linked to Richmond and Collingwood.

– No. 5 draft pick Elijah Tsatas has admirers after being stuck in the VFL for much of the year.

Dylan Shiel continues to be linked with a move away from Tullamarine, with St Kilda a potential destination.

- Jake Stringer could reportedly be on his way out of the club after not being offered a two-year deal.

FREMANTLE

Liam Baker wants to return to Western Australia but is considered more likely to choose West Coast.

– The Dockers have early picks which could satisfy Richmond for Shai Bolton.

– Were said to be into Kysaiah Pickett amid reports of homesickness, but he’s staying at Melbourne.

– Off-contract Carlton forward Jack Martin has reportedly had a medical.

GEELONG

– Frontrunner to land Bailey Smith after he requested a trade from Western Bulldogs.

– Linked with Clayton Oliver should he leave Melbourne.

– The Cats were reportedly circling All-Australian forward Jake Waterman.

- Linked with Jack Macrae after he asked to be traded, but he has since nominated St Kilda.

- The Cats are exploring a move for Jack Martinafter he was delisted by Carlton.

GOLD COAST SUNS

- Coach Damien Hardwick has met with Dustin Martin over a bombshell move to the Suns.

Daniel Rioli has requested a trade to the Suns from Richmond.

John Noble shocked Collingwood by asking to be traded to Gold Coast.

Jack Lukosius has been told he can explore his options by the Suns.

Isaac Cumming was touted but is unlikely after Rioli and Noble’s commitments.

Malcolm Rosas has been told he can explore his options.

GWS GIANTS

– A host of rival clubs are keen on free agent Harry Perryman.

Isaac Cumming has reportedly told the Giants he wants to be traded to South Australia.

James Peatling is one of the most in-demand players in the trade market with West Coast, Western Bulldogs, Melbourne, Collingwood and St Kilda reportedly keen.

– Could renew interest in Crows swingman Elliott Himmelberg 12 months after being rebuffed.

HAWTHORN

Josh Battle will cross from St Kilda as a free agent.

– Set to land West Coast defender Tom Barrass in a trade.

– Appear to be vying with Port Adelaide to land Harry Perryman if he leaves GWS.

MELBOURNE

– Were seen as the frontrunner for Dan Houston but he has since cooled on joining the Demons.

– Linked with Eagles key defender Harry Edwards before he re-signed.

– Uncapped GWS ruck-forward Wade Derksen could join as a back-up to skipper Max Gawn after requesting a trade to Victoria.

– The Demons have been adamant Clayton Oliver will stay after being linked with a trade last year.

Christian Petracca has ruled out leaving after being disgruntled.

– Key defender Adam Tomlinson is likely to move on for more AFL opportunities.

NORTH MELBOURNE

– Alastair Clarkson named Luke Parker, Ollie Wines and Callan Ward among a host of veterans the club was considering.

– Ward and Jack Viney have re-signed at GWS and Melbourne respectively after being linked to North.

– Put a big offer to Richmond defender Nathan Broad, but he will stay at Punt Road.

– Poised to trade a late draft pick to West Coast for Jack Darling, who will reportedly sign a deal longer than one year with performance-related triggers.

PORT ADELAIDE

Dan Houston’s name continues to be raised as a trade target for Victorian clubs.

– The Power are one of the favourites to secure Harry Perryman if he opts to leave GWS.

– Collingwood small forwardJoe Richards and fringe Western Bulldogs midfielder Riley Garcia are reportedly targets.

– Right in the mix for Jack Lukosius but Alex Neal-Bullen has chosen Adelaide.

— Ruckman Ivan Soldo has been linked with St Kilda after falling behind Jordon Sweet in the pecking order.

RICHMOND

Daniel Rioli (Gold Coast) and Liam Baker (Western Australia) have requested trades.

– Free agent Jack Graham has been strongly linked to West Coast.

Shai Bolton is hoping to be traded to Western Australia.

– Linked to Essendon midfielder Ben Hobbs as the club plans for its next era.

Nathan Broad turned down North Melbourne interest and will stay.

ST KILDA

– Will lose Josh Battle to Hawthorn, but have been circlingDan Houston.

– GWS midfielder James Peatling is said to be of interest.

– Have significant salary cap room and have been linked to Victorian Andrew Brayshaw.

- Leading suitor for Bulldog Jack Macrae after he requested a trade. The Saints’ third-round pick has been mooted as a trade option and Macrae nominated St Kilda as his preferred destination.

- Linked with Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo.

- The Saints and Bombers have shut down speculation linking St Kilda with a ‘godfather’ offer for Zach Merrett.

SYDNEY

Luke Parker has been noncommittal on his future after being linked to North Melbourne.

Peter Ladhams reportedly has rival interest after losing his spot to Brodie Grundy.

- Small forward Jacob Konstanty remains without a deal beyond 2024. His manager David Trotter told the AFL website “he’s got a couple of clubs that really liked him in his draft year.” Konstanty was the No.20 draft pick in 2022.

WEST COAST

– Tipped to be the club of choice for Liam Baker, who has requested a trade.

– Free agent Jack Graham likely to decide whether he will join the Eagles after they lock in their next senior coach.

Shai Bolton is expected to join Fremantle if he is traded. The Dockers have more trade capital to satisfy Richmond.

– Have been linked with out-of-contract Carlton midfielder Jack Carroll, a WA product.

Tom Barrass has nominated Hawthorn as his club of choice after asking to be traded.

— Likely to trade Jack Darling to North Melbourne for a late pick.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

– Set to lose Bailey Smith, most likely to Geelong.

Caleb Daniel is yet to request a trade and had a strong finish to the season.

Jack Macrae has told the club he wants to be traded to St Kilda after losing his spot in the 22.

Rory Lobb is poised to stay at Whitten Oval after his resurgence in defence.

Riley Garcia reportedly has interest from clubs including Port Adelaide.
