AFL 2025: Every game from first six rounds of the season predicted

The AFL went all in on Hokball with its prime time fixturing in 2025, and it appears to start the season they are going to be rewarded. Simeon Thomas-Wilson predicts who starts hot in 2025.

Hawks make Christmas fitness pact

The AFL has gone all-in on Hokball and Sam Mitchell’s Hawthorn could be off to a fast start in 2025.

The young and brash Hawks took the league by storm in 2024 with their daring footy and even more eye catching celebrations, prompting the league to make them the prime-time Hawks in 2025.

And it could be some fine prime time viewing for Hawks fans with the side only getting better since their breakout year.

Sydney at the SCG in opening round is a tough task first up, but this is a Swans outfit who got battered in the grand final and will have a new coach in Dean Cox after John Longmire stepped aside.

The side who thrashed the Swans in the grand final, Brisbane also could be off to a fast start with some big matches at the Gabba giving the Lions a big advantage, while they also take on expected strugglers Richmond and West Coast in their first six.

Of course, the big caveat with Chris Fagan’s side is whether the enigmatic Joe Daniher can be replaced in the Lions’ forward line after he retired following the flag win.

Down the highway Gold Coast are yet to make finals but the AFL has given Damien Hardwick’s Suns a great chance of a fast start in their bid to finally change their fortunes and make the eight.

The Suns take on Essendon and Adelaide at home, games they will be backing themselves to win while their away trips in the first six rounds include matches against North Melbourne, the Tigers and Eagles.

The Crows have a kind draw in a season where a fast start is imperative for senior coach Matthew Nicks while Melbourne also has a run that could quickly put all the off-field issues the Demons have faced of late in the rear view mirror quickly.
