Adelaide wants to re-sign senior coach Matthew Nicks before the start of next season.

Nicks, who is set to enter his seventh campaign in the role and led the club to a minor premiership this year, is out of contract at the end of 2026.

Crows chief executive Tim Silvers was confident talks would progress in the next few weeks.

Silvers said he would like to get it done before round 1.

“I’m hopeful we can work through that ... before the season starts,” Silvers said.

“He’s heading into his seventh season, has been a terrific coach for our footy club.

“We’ve been on this great steady path and he got a lot out of the group last season.

“We’re in constant conversation about where his future lies.”

MORE TO COME.
