At the start of the 2024 school year, Tara Anglican School for Girls proudly welcomed Adele Ramsay as its 11th principal.

Mrs Ramsay’s commissioning marks a new chapter in the School’s leadership, embodying the core values of affirmation, integrity, opportunity, and service.

Her extensive experience and dedication resonate deeply with Tara’s ethos, setting the stage for a thriving school community.

Born in New Zealand, Mrs Ramsay spent her early years on a dairy farm before moving to Australia. Her formative years at a Christian school instilled in her a commitment to excellence and service.

Inspired by her time in youth ministry in California, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Education, followed by Masters degrees in Education and Business Administration. She is currently working towards an Educational Doctorate.

Mrs Ramsay is immersing herself in the Tara community, getting to know all staff and students in the Junior, Senior, and Boarding schools. She is focused on maintaining Tara’s excellent academic results and developing women of substance and character.

“Our challenge is to propel Tara Anglican School for Girls into a future where our girls not only dream big, but also have the confidence and resilience to turn those dreams into reality,” she says.

“By embracing the opportunities before us and cultivating a culture of courage and perseverance, we are poised to usher in a new era of excellence and achievement for our school community.”

Mrs Ramsay values innovation in education, preparing students for a dynamic global world, and fostering a culture that values soft skills, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Tara is pleased to announce that we are a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Future students will have the opportunity to study the HSC or the IB DP curriculum.

“I feel immensely privileged to be part of Tara’s journey and to have the opportunity to shape its future direction and success,” Mrs Ramsay says.

“I’ve been deeply moved by the warmth and generosity of the Tara community’s welcome.”
