Developing young men of courage, conscience and compassion

From our humble beginnings in 1880, Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview has grown into a community of 1600 young men from Years 5-12, comprising both boarders and day students, in a vibrant and supportive environment.
Our students are encouraged to embrace scholarship as a response to God’s gift of intellect, and to respond authentically through critical thinking, reflection, and action.
“Our mission is to build students of character and integrity with the drive and capacity to be agents of change, empowering them to excel in their chosen spheres of life and to make a meaningful difference in the world,” says Principal Dr Paul Hine. Academically, Riverview is one of the highest achieving comprehensive (non-scholarship) boys’ schools in NSW, and we are proud to be a diverse and inclusive community that welcomes students from many walks of life. Our specialist programs include a supportive First Nations Program, a strong Special Education Inclusion Program for students with intellectual disabilities, and the largest Bursary Program of its kind in the nation to support the education of students from families in disadvantaged circumstances.
Our educational mission aims to help students discover their gifts and learn how to contribute meaningfully to the world around them through positive global citizenship.
“Our call is to equip young people with the tools to discover who they are created to be, and the desire to question how they can use their God-given abilities in service to their community and the wider world,” says Rector Fr Tom Renshaw SJ.
Offering a holistic, faith-based Jesuit education that focuses on developing young men of courage, compassion and conscience, we not only equip students with the skills to succeed in the world, but also the drive and compassion to change it for the better.
