The Southport School offers something special to students and families and is far more than a school.

Last year proved to be an outstanding academic year, ranked for the third year in a row as the Gold Coast’s number one primary school in NAPLAN and our senior school producing our strongest ATAR results – 60 per cent of our students achieving ATAR results above 90, 10 of those students an ATAR above 99, and physics results for one student being the highest in the state for 2023.

Our student and parent satisfaction are unrivalled with our recent community survey showing overwhelming positive feedback about the quality of our teachers and focus on student wellbeing.

Our caring and connected community supports student learning, encouraging boys no matter what their talents may be.

Offering a wide suite of co-curricular activities, our recent production of The Addams Family musical entertained with spectacular performances.

We are proud of our 2023 national school champions in basketball, rowing current Head of the River champions plus runner-up National Champions that has allowed selection for Henley 2024. Our cricketers secured a 10th GPS premiership in 13 years and more than 1700 boys are actively involved in co-curricular activities, including music and the arts.

Our Cadet Program presented the Anzac Day Dawn Service showing our deep respect to those that have fallen before us. Service projects include Kokoda, Tobruk and the Coral Sea.

The connection runs deep, our Old Boys Association remains strong. Recently our oldest old boy, Mr Bell, invited TSS to visit his hometown of Clifton to celebrate his 104th birthday. We took our youngest boarder, Rivers, who at 11 years old is the same age Mr Bell was when he started at TSS. A connection was made, and they were inseparable.

Our boarding community continues to drive families to the Gold Coast from near and far, keeping us all connected through engagements such as our upcoming Bush to Beach Bash with our sister school St Hilda’s.

WHERE WE ARE
An Anglican day and boarding school, The Southport School is located in Southport on the banks of the Gold Coast’s beautiful Nerang River and is the city’s only boys’ school.

TSS educates boys from Preschool (kindergarten) through to Year 12.

HERITAGE
In the Anglican tradition, The Southport School’s foundations are built on Christian values, and as one of the oldest schools in Queensland, is steeped in timeless traditions honoured by generations of families. Our rich history and cherished picturesque campus underpin sector-leading innovative academic and co-curricular programs and highly spirited GPS sports fixtures, all brought to life in our Band of Brothers ethos.

TSS maintains a longstanding relationship with sister school St Hilda’s, creating an environment which encourages our boys to develop healthy and respectful connections with young women.

BOARDING
Since our humble beginnings, TSS has been a home away from home for thousands of young men, currently caring for students from Southport to Singapore to St George.

Our boarders are strongly supported by pastoral and academic care programs to ensure they each reach their individual potential. The TSS community celebrates the unique perspective brought by our boarders, evidenced by the lifelong friendships that develop on campus and beyond.
