The Weekend Australian’s investigative podcast series The Teacher’s Pet has passed five million downloads, with one in every four now in the US.
Probing the probable murder of Sydney mother Lyn Dawson, who disappeared in 1982, the series has led to the discovery of new evidence and witnesses and to the establishment of a police strike force to investigate historical sexual assaults and student-teacher relationships on the northern beaches.
Episode 12, Momentum, released this week, was evenly split between listeners in Australia and overseas, with international downloads led by the US (25 per cent) and the UK (13 per cent).
The series continues to dominate the Australian iTunes podcast charts, holding the No 1 overall position.
All episodes were ranked in the top 15 last night.
