Saudi women are doing fine except for the oppression of white imperialist feminists

(Of 96 nations that spoke at the UN Human Rights Council, 75 praised Saudi Arabia) when its human rights record was reviewed today, as a part of a mandatory review that every country undergoes every five years at the UN Human Rights Council (including:) Venezuela … “for empowering women” … Pakistan … (for empowering) women and (promoting) gender equality … (the) State of Palestine … Yemen … Bahrain … Malaysia (for) “advancing women’s rights” … China … (and) The Philippines (for combating) “human trafficking and to ­enhance the protection and promotion of the rights of migrant workers”.

Praise women’s rights in Saudi Arabia? Sky News, November 3:

Two young sisters whose bodies were found on the banks of the Hudson River bound together with tape are believed to have jumped in rather than return to Saudi Arabia … Sources … told investigators that the women “would rather inflict harm on themselves” than return to Saudi Arabia.

Praise migrant rights? Alahna ­Kindred, The Express, October 31:

Seventeen women have been arrested after going to a Halloween party in … Saudi Arabia. Saudi intelligence officers raided the compound and detained the Filipina workers … Five men … were arrested and could face charges of organised witchcraft … or morality …

Saudi women repressed? Shima Shahbazi, Deakin University conference, November 2 to 4, 2016:
