Christchurch shooting: Manifesto claims NZ mosque attacks were revenge
In a 74-page “manifesto” a man says he carried out fatal mosque shootings to avenge deaths of thousands in Europe.
A man alleged to have shot up a Christchurch mosque claims to be a “regular white man from a regular family” who decided to “take a stand to ensure a future for my people”.
A 73-page manifesto posted to the Twitter site of Brenton Tarrant today takes aim at mass immigration of “non-Europeans to “our lands”, and “WHITE GENOCIDE”.
Revenge is his motive for the attack, the author claims.
“To take revenge on the invaders for the hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by foreign invaders in European lands throughout history,” Tarrant writes.
“To take revenge for the enslavement of millions of Europeans taken from their lands by the Islamic slavers.
“To take revenge for the thousands of European lives lost to terror attacks throughout European lands.
“To take revenge for Ebba Akerlund [a victim of the Stockholm terror attack].
“To directly reduce immigration rates to European lands by intimidating and physically removing the invaders themselves.”
According to the author, “we must deal with both the invaders within our lands and the invaders that seek to enter our lands. We must crush immigration and deport those invaders already living on our soil. It is not just a matter of our prosperity, but the very survival of our people”.
“Just a regular white man"
He claims to be 28, born to a working class, low income family, who had a regular childhood “without any great issues”.
“I had little interest in education during my schooling, barely achieving a passing grade. I did not attend University as I had no great interest in anything offered in the Universities to study. “I worked for a short time before making some money investing in Bitconnect, then used the money from the investment to travel.
“I am just a regular White man, from a regular family. Who decided to take a stand to ensure a future for my people”.
He reveals that he had been considering the attack since 2017, when he was travelling throughout Europe.
“I remember pulling into a shopping centre car park to buy groceries in some moderate sized town in Eastern France, of roughly 15-25 thousand people,” he writes.
“As I sat there in the parking lot, in my rental car, I watched a stream of the invaders walk through the shopping centre’s front doors. For every French man or woman there was double the number of invaders. I had seen enough, and in anger, drove out of the town, refusing to stay any longer in the cursed place and headed on to the next town.”
He felt rage, he says.

The original target was the mosque in Dunedin but he changed his mind after visiting mosques in Christchurch and Linwood.
He claims he chose New Zealand to strike in order to show that “nowhere in the world was safe”.
He says he is acting alone, is not a Nazi nor an anti-Semite, and that he developed his beliefs from the internet, adding: “You will not find the truth anywhere else”. He hints at “brief contact” with Anders Breivik, the far-right terrorist who killed 77 people in Norway in 2011.
And he stresses he was not influenced by family and friends, calling them “typical Australians, apathetic and for the most part apolitical, only truly showing motivation in matters of animal rights, environmentalism and taxation.”
Claiming he hoped to survive the incident, the writer later remarks that “death is certain”. The manifesto declares the “worth of your life” is measured by “your actions during it” — and it urges followers to “embrace infamy … until victory is achieved.”
Posing the question of whether he feels remorse: “No, I only wish I could have killed more invaders”.
