Notorious killer Bevan Spencer Von Einem admits child porn possession
SOUTH Australia's notorious killer Bevan Spencer von Einem has admitted to possessing child pornography in his Yatala prison jail cell.
SOUTH Australia's most notorious killer Bevan Spencer von Einem has admitted to possessing child pornography while in his jail cell at Yatala Labour Prison.
The convicted murderer, 61, who is serving a life sentence for the 1983 murder of Richard Kelvin, pleaded guilty earlier today in the Adelaide Magistrates Court to possessing three fictional stories about young boys engaging in sexual acts with other boys or men.
Police found the hand-written stories, marked confidential and sealed in envelopes, during a search of Von Einem's cell in November, 2005.
Representing the Director of Public Prosecutions, lawyer John Wells told the court the three envelopes were marked "confidential'' and addressed to Von Einem and three high profile lawyers, including Michael Abbott QC.
Mr Wells said one envelope contained an eight-page hand-written fictional story about an eight-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, a second contained a 15-page story about a 12-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy.
The third envelope held a 27-page story about two 11-year-old boys and an adult.
Mr Wells argued that even if Von Einem had not opened the envelopes, simply by having them in his possession he had broken the law and they would have served a prurient purpose.
