Victoria Police say two armed robbers on the run for nearly six months could kill someone if they strike again.
Victoria Police say two armed robbers on the run for nearly six months could kill someone if they strike again.
Police are stepping up their search for two armed robbers who held up a Williamstown liquor store up at gun point in December 23 last year.
Detective Sergeant Damien O’Mahoney also said the alleged robbers had “no qualms” with potentially doing harm.
“They had no qualms about arming themselves and it is quite likely that the next time they offend their behaviour will escalate to causing serious injury or death,” he told reporters today.
CCTV footage has been released of two burglars in balaclavas, one armed with a sawn off shotgun and the other with a revolver. Police allege the two men demanded cash and then fled from the store on Douglas Parade.
The alleged offenders are described as Caucasian, tall, and thin build. Police have also released images of a older white Toyota Corolla seen near the crime scene.
Officers set up an information bus in Ferguson St, Williamstown, from 9am to midday today in the hope of talking to witnesses.
“We are renewing our appeals for public assistance to solve this matter,” Detective Sergeant O’Mahoney said.
“These men were both armed with guns and certainly put the attendants in fear of their lives.”
Police have asked that anyone with information about the Williamstown robbery contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
