Salim Mehajer’s sister files AVO against Nomad husband
A bonding of two notorious families appears to have come unstuck as Salim’s sister takes out AVO against her bikie ex.
A bonding of two notorious families appears to have come unstuck after the sister of flamboyant property developer Salim Mehajer filed an apprehended violence order against Moudi Tajjour, a senior member of the Nomads motorcycle gang who she wed in December.
Tajjour, the cousin of Sydney nightclub identity John Ibrahim, is required to front Burwood Local Court in Sydney on Thursday to respond to Ms Mehajer’s AVO application.
Ms Mehajer and Tajjour, a former vice-president of the Nomads who has spent time in jail for manslaughter, married two days after announcing their engagement on Christmas Eve.
It was unclear why Ms Mehajer applied for the AVO against Tajjour.
That application came two months after the pair reportedly split in early February.
Salim Mehajer, formerly the deputy mayor of Auburn in Sydney’s west, was released from prison last Wednesday at roughly the same time as the AVO is believed to have been lodged.
Mr Mehajer, 31, was arrested in January over alleged car-insurance fraud.
He is due to appear in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday to face separate charges of electoral fraud in relation to his election to Auburn council.
In February it was reported that below a photo of Ms Mehajer posted by her on social media, an account held by Tajjour had commented “U f..king slut”.
Tajjour, who was reported as saying he had been “hacked”, refused to comment further.
Correction: An earlier version of this article stated a bodyguard was shot at the location of the December wedding of Sanna Mehajer and Moudi Tajjour, when instead the shooting occurred at the location of the November wedding of Aisha Mehajer and Hassan Sayour.
