Police arrest three men over wild Melbourne house party
Police have charged three men and are seeking two others in relation to a wild and destructive Melbourne house party attended by up to 150 youths.
Police have charged three men with criminal damage in relation to a wild and destructive house party attended by up to 150 youths in Melbourne’s west earlier this month.
A 20-year-old Wollert man, 18-year-old Point Cook male and 18 year-old male from Deer Park have been charged after police executed search warrants at three properties earlier today.
Footage from one of the arrests shows a detective emerging from one of the properties carrying a large flat-screen television among other evidence.
Police have also released images of two other males of African appearance who they believe might be able to assist them in their investigation into the May 6 party held in Footscray, which resulted in significant damage, internally and externally, to the property
The landlord had claimed that she was called to the Ryan Street home by neighbours and watched helplessly alongside police as up to 150 youths trashed the house, smashing walls and windows and hurling televisions and other property into the street.
Police have since conceded that they would look at changing their approach to dealing with out-of-control parties after they were unable to stop the house being trashed.
The three men have been bailed and will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 13 September 2018.
Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate the matter.
Police had earlier arrested a 19-year-old Point Cook man for drunkenness, in relation to the party.
