Manly star Dylan Walker charged with assaulting fiancee
Dylan Walker has been told to stay away from training after being charged with assaulting his fiancee outside their home.
Manly centre Dylan Walker has been told to stay away from training after being charged with assaulting his fiancee outside their home on Sydney’s northern beaches yesterday afternoon.
Manly chief executive Lyall Gorman this morning confirmed Walker had been charged with common assault and assault occasioning bodily harm after ambulance paramedics were called to the home he shares with his fiancee Alexandra Ivkovic and their five-month-old son.
He was bailed to appear in Manly court on December 11. Until then, he has been told to stay away from training by the club.
“I don’t have all the facts yet, I haven’t been able to speak to Dylan personally,” Gorman said.
“I have spoken to his partner on four occasions — twice last night and twice this morning — and I am trying to make sure we look after her welfare and the welfare of the young baby.
“She is in good care with her mum and dad. I don’t have the police statement of facts yet so it is a little bit early for me to make too much comment other than to express great disappointment on behalf of our club.

“Allegations around domestic violence are of course foreign to anything we stand for, our culture and our values, also of course the whole game holistically.
“It is a matter before the courts so it is also too early to make full judgment. We won’t require him to attend training today. He needs to clear his head.
“He has only been released from Manly police station through the night. He has to get his own head around the matter and work out how he is going to address them on a personal basis.”
Gorman confirmed the NRL integrity unit had been informed and that coach Des Hasler had checked on the welfare of Ivkovic.
“It is too early to say what the consequences of this are,” Gorman said.
“It is clearly a very serious allegation. I have spoken to the integrity unit two or three times last night and again this morning. They are aware of where we are at the moment.
“My next problem now is to get the statement of fact from the police so we are more informed in what the next steps are.”
Police media released a statement overnight which said a 24-year-old woman had allegedly been assaulted and suffered minor cuts to her shoulder, leg and feet.
“She was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics,” the statement said.
“Police from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command arrested a 24-year-old man who was conveyed to Manly Police Station.
“He was later charged with common assault (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV). The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on Tuesday 11 December 2018.”
