Killer Jemma Lilley to be moved from rehab centre to women’s prison
Murderer Jemma Lilley will not be allowed to stay at a small private rehabilitation facility.
Murderer Jemma Lilley, found guilty of stabbing an autistic teenager to death for the thrill of it, will not be allowed to stay at the small private rehabilitation centre where she has been enjoying protection from Western Australia’s biggest female prison population.
The Australian has confirmed that Lilley, the supermarket nightshift supervisor who said she found it “empowering” to creep up behind 18-year-old Aaron Pajich and kill him in 2016, will be moved from Melaleuca Remand and Reintegration Facility in Perth’s south to a prison. She will be shifted from Melaleuca, where every inmate has a “personal officer” for support services and rehabilitation, after she is sentenced next month, if not sooner.
Attention turned to Lilley’s unusual accommodation after the woman who helped her kill Pajich — 44-year-old mother of three Trudi Lenon — was attacked with boiling water at the state’s main women’s jail on Monday.
Lenon is in a stable condition at Fiona Stanley Hospital with severe burns on her shoulders, breasts, back, neck, arms and fingers. It is the second time she has been attacked with freshly boiled water at Bandyup Women’s Prison in West Swan.
The ambushing of Pajich shocked Western Australia when the details emerged at a five-week trial last year.
Pajich was friends with Lenon’s teenage son through their shared love of computer games. The trial heard he went to the house where he died in June 2016 believing he was going to see his mate and play on his computer. Pajich had been missing for less than a week when police discovered his remains in what prosecutors described as an “amateurish” shallow grave in the backyard of Lilley’s home.
Yesterday, four-time world champion boxer Danny Green said he hoped Lenon’s burns became infected so she would die an “obscenely painful death”.
“This poor young man. The way his life ended was just incomprehensible,” Green posted on social media. “I hope you get an infection and die a horrid and slow and obscenely painful death you foul mutt.”
