Lawyers for the 48-year-old telecommunications technician charged with two of the Claremont serial killings have asked to see documents from prosecutors about the alleged crimes.
In a brief court appearance at the Stirling Gardens court in Perth today, Bradley Robert Edwards appeared by video link from Hakea maximum security prison. He wore a green T-shirt that appeared to be prison-issued. He was not required to speak and sat expressionless in a swivel chair.
Prosecutor Carmel Bargallo told registrar Janet Whitbread that there had been discussions between the defence and prosecution over the case, and that both sides wanted an eight-week adjournment so that the prosecution could provide documents to the defence.
Ms Barbagallo said the defence wanted the documents in order “to obtain some instructions from their client”.
Ms Whitbread ordered Mr Edwards to return to court on March 29.
Jane Rimmer, 23, was abducted from Claremont and found murdered in 2006. Ciara Glennon, 27, were abducted from Claremont and found murdered in 2007. Sarah Spiers, 18, also disappeared from the Perth suburb in 2006 but has never been found. The investigation into her
