Police have released CCTV footage of 68 vehicles they want to identify as they go to extraordinary lengths to solve the brutal murder of Queensland pharmacy assistant Toyah Cordingley.

The motorcycles, cars and trucks were recorded in a five-minute period on Sunday October 21, the day Ms Cordingley was murdered while walking her dog at Wangetti Beach, 42km north of Cairns.

Detectives want to identify potential witnesses travelling south towards Cairns and have called on the drivers — or anyone who recognises the vehicles — to come forward.

Hundreds of other vehicles travelling in the area have already been identified.

“Information provided to us by the public is absolutely vital in moving forward with this investigation and we are urging members of the community to continue helping us as we launch a fresh appeal today,” Detective Inspector Sonia Smith said.

“We are continuing to work around the clock on this case and are processing hundreds of pieces of information with many vehicles in the area already identified.

“The investigation team is now appealing for the drivers of these vehicles to come forward and register their details with police so we can speak to them as part of our inquiries and expand our list of potential witnesses in the area.”

The vehicles were travelling south on the Captain Cook Highway near Clifton Road, Clifton Beach, between 5.02pm and 5.07pm. Clifton Beach is to the south of Wangetti Beach.

In the CCTV footage, police have numbered 69 vehicles but say they have already identified one.

A police statement added: “Detectives believe the drivers of these vehicles may hold information relevant to the homicide investigation and are urging anyone who recognises them to come forward and register their vehicle with police.”

Ms Cordingley, 24, was reported missing around 10.50pm on October 21. Her family launched their own search for her, and her father discovered her body on Wangetti Beach at 7.45am the next day.
