Victoria has recorded 12 new coronavirus cases and one death overnight.

New Department of Health figures reveal a slight rise from the eight new cases recorded on Saturday.

The state’s death toll is now 806.

The important 14-day case average marker for metropolitan Melbourne stands at 11.9 and 0.2 for regional Victoria.

Under Victoria’s roadmap to reopening, restrictions will be eased in the city after October 19 if the average is less than five.

Residents are now permitted to meet outside in groups of up to five people from two households.
