Two sailors at centre of new Qld coronavirus cases
UPDATE: Queensland has recorded three new cases of coronavirus across the state.
Two sailors have been diagnosed with coronavirus as part of three new cases for Queensland.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk on Friday morning confirmed one crew member located off the coast and a person in hotel quarantine had contracted the virus.
But in a statement released a few hours later, Queensland Health announced there had been a third diagnosis.
The man is a crew member onboard the same ship as the other positive case.

Both are expected to be transferred to Townsville University Hospital for treatment and quarantine.
All remaining crew have been tested and returned negative results.
It comes just three weeks after another person located on a cargo ship also contracted the virus.
The third new case for Queensland came from a man in his 30s who had recently returned from Sydney.
He remains in hotel quarantine on the Gold Coast.
The total number of active coronavirus cases in Queensland now stands at nine, more than than 716,420 tests conducted.
Meanwhile, the three young women at the centre of a feared cluster at Logan, south of Brisbane, have been discharged from hospital.
They will face court in September charged with fraud.
As residents from across the southeast enjoy a long weekend, Ms Palaszczuk has warned against complacency, urging people to keep up their hand hygiene and social distancing.

It comes as a Supreme Court judge made orders to prevent a mass protest planned in Brisbane this weekend over fears it could not be done in a “COVID-safe way”.
Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath secured the injunction late on Thursday, blocking the Refugee Solidarity Brisbane/Meanjin’s planned Story Bridge sit-in for refugee rights over concerns about a group of men being held at Kangaroo Point.

“If the organisers are serious they should seek to proceed in a lawful way under the Peaceful Assembly Act and demonstrate it can be done in a COVID-safe way,” Ms D’Ath said.
“We support the right to peaceful protest but only if it can be done in a COVID-safe way that doesn’t put public safety at risk.”
