My Kitchen Rules host Manu Feildel put laxatives in food of vegan diners, French officers
The chef and My Kitchen Rules host has revealed he has dropped laxatives into the food of diners before - citing two groups as victims.
French-Australian chef and TV personality Manu Feildel has come clean on a long-held secret, revealing he has, on occasion, put laxatives in people’s food.
Speaking on 2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed and Erin on Wednesday morning, Manu said he had at times pulled the stool-softening stunt in an act of revenge.
“They gave me the sh*ts, I gave them the sh*ts back,” he said.
Although his targets were few, Manu named vegans and French military officers as some of his unwitting victims.
The My Kitchen Rules host said he first had the idea while serving in France’s National Service, a mandatory military enlistment for 18-year-old men phased out by 2001.
Stationed in the National Service’s kitchen later in his one-year enlistment, the young Frenchman said the other officers had treated him “like crap”.
“You’re just like newbies or they take the mickey out of you,” he said.
“I really didn’t want to do it … it’s not my thing.”
“I ended up being in the kitchen after that, running the kitchen for the officers,” he said.
“You know those little caps you get given when you are constipated? I used to empty them in their food.
The chef said he pulled the prank in an attempt to “open them up”.
“And I did it with vegans as well,” he admitted.
The My Kitchen Rules judge appeared on SAS Australia in 2021, a military-style reality show where celebrities are pushed to their physical and psychological limits, but left after a matter of days.
