Man rescued after tumbling down cliff face while holidaying with family in Noosa National Park

A man has been flown to safety after taking a horror tumble down a cliff while holidaying at a popular tourist destination with his family.

A man has been flown to hospital after falling 20m down a cliff while holidaying at a popular tourist destination in Queensland.

The rescue operation commenced on Saturday after the man, in his 40s, tumbled down the cliff face at Paradise Caves, in the Noosa National Park, while holidaying with his family.

Emergency services and a rescue helicopter joined in the rescue efforts.

Footage from 9 News Queensland captures paramedics surrounding the man, who pulled himself to a safer position after falling into the water.

He is then seen being winched to safety by the helicopter.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokeswoman said the man was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, with injuries to his arm and chest.

“The incident was witnessed by the patient’s wife, there was a period of loss of consciousness initially but he quickly regained consciousness,” QAS senior operations supervisor James Mayfield told 9 News.

“He was able to move himself to a spot and set himself up until help arrived.”
