Industry may buy infected Qld banana farm

THE Australian Banana Growers Council says a Queensland farm contaminated by a soil-borne disease should be closed for the good of the entire industry.

A BANANA farm infected by a devastating fungal disease could be bought out and closed by the industry.

THE soil-borne Panama TR-4 was first detected at the Robsons Bananas farm at Tully in March and has been contained to the property by strict biosecurity measures.
