UN report lists litany of rights abuses in China's Xinjiang

The report urged Beijing, the UN and the world at large to focus its gaze on the situation

The United Nations released a major report into serious human rights abuses in China's Xinjiang region Wednesday, saying torture allegations were credible and citing possible crimes against humanity but stopping short of calling it genocide. 

- Torture allegations 'credible' - China has been accused for years of detaining more than one million Uyghurs and other Muslims in the region.
