An expletive laden video in which former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer threatens to rape his in-laws is being investigated by police.

The abusive recording, sent to Mr Mehajer’s estranged wife Ayesha Learmouth, was aired on the Nine Network’s A Current Affair last night.

The program showed two videos of the enraged ex-councillor and property developer calling Ms Learmonth a “sl..”.

“Aysha, you’ve got five minutes to give me a call. If you don’t call me in five minutes I’m going to rape your mum. Your mum and your f...ing dad. Call me now,” he demanded.

Police today confirmed they were investigating the footage.

The former deputy mayor, who was dumped earlier this year because of an ongoing inquiry into Auburn City Council, was brought to the nation’s attention after throwing a lavish wedding ceremony last year where he closed a street for the nuptials.

But the relationship appeared to have deteriorated since.

In the second video screened last night, Mr Mehajer continued to hurl abuse at Ms Learmonth.

“Aysha, I hope you die, you s..,” Mr Mehajer yelled.

“I swear on the Koran, I swear to God, I’m not leaving today.

“And I hope you die, you f...ing s... You f...ed 12 guys, you s... You f...ed 12 guys. You f...ing s... You f...ing s...”

The videos were allegedly sent after Ms Learmonth left and took refuge at a relative’s house.

Police took out an apprehended violence order against Mr Mehajer on behalf of Ms Learmonth in July. However, the parties were reportedly in discussions about having it lifted.

Mr Mehajer claims he has been set up over the video.
