The desperate search for three-year-old James O’Reilly in WA on Saturday has ended almost 12 hours he went missing, with police confirming he’s alive and well.
The desperate search for a three-year-old boy who went missing from his family’s holiday home in Western Australia has ended with the boy found alive and well by a family member assisting with the search.
James O’Reilly went missing around 7:30am on Saturday from the holiday home some 250km from Perth in the surfing town of Yallingup.
Police, SES volunteers and sniffer dogs began searching for the boy on Saturday as calls for help went out on social media.
At 7:23pm Australian Western Standard Time (AWST), Police media sent out an alert declaring that O’Reilly had been found by a family member who was assisting with the search.
“3-year-old missing boy James has been located in bushland alive by a family member who was assisting with the land search operation,” it read.
“Given the time he has spent exposed to the rough terrain and poor weather conditions, arrangements will be made for him to have a medical check-up as a precaution.
“WA Police Force thanks all the emergency service volunteers and community members who assisted with the search.”
