Casual intervention

Jobs and Industrial Relations Minister Kelly O’Dwyer will intervene in a Federal Court “test case’’ about casuals, following employer concern that workers will be able to “double dip’’ on their entitlements. The Federal Court will today consider a new application by WorkPac, the company subject to a controversial court ruling on casuals.

Prince’s pal fingered

The grisly death of Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul was reportedly overseen by Maher Abdulaziz Mutreb, who travels extensively with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), the royal ruler who many suspect ordered Mr Khashoggi’s assassination. It has also emerged that Dr Salah al-Tubaigy, one of 15 men placed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2 was trained in Melbourne.

Roger David fails

The transformation of shopping has claimed another high-profile victim, with Australia’s third-largest menswear retailer, Roger David, entering voluntary administration after 76 years in business. Roger David currently operates 57 stores managed by more than 300 staff across Australia, operating under three brands — Roger David, RDX and Stray.
