‘Against spirit of game’

The MCC has given new life to the controversy over Ravi Ashwin’s mankad of Jos Buttler. Peter Lalor reports.

“To clarify, it has never been in the laws that a warning should be given to the nonstriker and nor is it against the spirit of cricket to run out a nonstriker who is seeking to gain an advantage by leaving his/her ground early.”

Comment of the day

“Why aren’t you calling out the ALP for preferencing the socialist Greens? They are the hard left of the political spectrum and are much more of a danger to our way of life, to jobs, to our sovereign borders, to our children’s future than PHON ever will be!

“I despise the hypocrisy where every numpty in the main stream media jump on the Coalition to try and shame them into not doing preference deals with the right of centre parties, yet no one raises any concern about the unholy alliance between the ALP and the far left.”

Another Peter, in response to ‘It’s not the time for PM to let Hanson ride shotgun’.
