‘I was sidelined for blowing whistle’
Alex Turnbull claims he was sidelined from his position at a global bank after blowing the whistle on allegedly dodgy deals.
In 2012 and 2013, while the PM’s son was working in Singapore at Goldman Sachs, the organisation raised bonds for scandal-ridden Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1MDB worth $US6 billion.
“When the 1MDB deal was done with Goldman I sent an email to some of my colleagues saying, ‘What the f..k is going on with this? The pricing is nuts, what is the use of funds?” he told The Australian. “And I got a talking-to by compliance.”
He said he was “B-tracked” as a result and later resigned from Goldman Sachs.

Trade war ‘could harm us all’
Stocks plunged on Wall St today in response to the resignation of Donald Trump’s economic adviser Gary Cohn as Foreign Minister Julie Bishop warned bluntly that a trade war could erupt over new US tariffs and ‘harm us all’.
Mr Cohn resigned after the president ignored his advice not to introduce 25 per cent tariffs on imported steel and 10 per cent on aluminium.

Boys take a back seat on ABC
The ABC is booting male television and radio hosts off air again today for International Women’s Day.
A spokesman for the ABC said the male hosts were required to turn up for work to support “their colleagues in the creation, production and delivery of content”.

A South African media outlet has been leaked the damning footage from later in the incident that showed an incensed Warner being shoved into the dressing rooms by team mates as he yelled at the wicketkeeper.
